Zhao Yue made her official on-stage debut with a performance of《剧场女神》"Theater Goddess" on November 2, 2013. She was promoted to a 2nd generation member of SNH48 Team NII on November 11, 2013.SNH48 holds General Elections every year to determine the popularity of its members through fanvotes. Zhao Yue had been a part of 6 General Elections in her time with SNH48 starting in 2014 and ending in 2019, with her highest rank being 6th in the 2018 elections.Zhao Yue officially graduated from SNH48 Team NII on September 11, 2022 with her Y.U.E Graduation Stage. Post graduation, she established a personal studio under Siba Media and now promotes as a solo artist as well as a member of 7SENSES.

Zhao Yue made her official debut as a member of SNH48's international sub-unit 7SENSES at the 24th ERC Chinese Top Ten Awards on March 27, 2017. Each member of 7SENSES represents an individual human sense, and Zhao Yue's is "Taste".Along with promotions in Mainland China, Zhao Yue has also been a part of promotional activities in South Korea with 7SENSES. Zhao Yue officially debuted as the 2nd ranked member of Bonbon Girls 303 (硬糖少女303) on 4th July 2020 on the night of the Produce Camp 2020 Finale. The group was managed by Wajijiwa Entertainment and was based in Beijing.Each member of Bonbon Girls represented a flavor of candy, and Zhao Yue's was 麦芽糖 (maltose).
